Dean Schlicter is the author of several books on algebraic geometry, including Algebraic Geometry. A Problem-Solving Approach and Lectures on Algebraic Geometry. He is also an affiliate of the American Mathematical Society. and serves on the editorial board of several mathematics journals.
Schlicter‘s research is focused on the development of efficient algorithms for solving a variety of problems. His research also focuses on the design and analysis of algorithms. And their application to large–scale scientific and engineering problems. He is particularly interested in the design and analysis of algorithms for stochastic optimization, constraint programming, and statistical inference. As well as applications for machine learning, data mining, and networks.
Schlicter is a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society and is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Donald E. Knuth Prize in Theoretical Computer Science and the NSF CAREER Award. He has published over 70 papers in peer–reviewed journals. and has served as program chair and keynote speaker at various international conferences. He is also an active member of the Association for Computing Machinery and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.
