Stefan Banach was born on March 30, 1892, in Kraków, Austria-Hungary now in Poland and he died on August 31, 1945, in  Lvov, Ukrainian S.S.R. now Lviv, Ukraine. His Father’s Name is Stefan Greczek. And his mother’s name is Katarzyna Banach.  First name of his father Stefan Greczek. and surname of his mother Katarzyna Banach as Stefan Banach

Stefan Banach was a Polish mathematician. And he is generally considered one of the 20th century’s most important and influential mathematicians. He was the founder of modern functional analysis and an original member of the Lwów School of Mathematics. His major work was the 1932 book, (Théorie des opérations linéaires) (Theory of Linear Operations), the first monograph on the general theory of functional analysis. Banach himself introduced the concept of normed linear spaces, which are now known as Banach spaces. He also proved several fundamental theorems in the field, and his applications of theory inspired much of the work in functional analysis for the next few decades.

He died of lung cancer in 1945 before he could resume his academic life with an appointment at Jagiellonian University, Kraków.

In 2022, Google Doodle commemorated the 100th anniversary of Stefan Banach receiving his title of professor.
