Proclus, born c. 410, Constantinople now Istanbul, Turkey. And died 485, Athens Greece. The father of Proclus was named Patricius and his mother was named Marcella. Proclus was a Greek philosopher and mathematician of the late 5th century AD. He is one of the last major Neoplatonists. His works range from logic to astronomy, and his theories had a major influence on the development of medieval philosophy. Wherever there is number, there is beauty quote by Proclus.

He was a student of both Ammonius Saccas and Syrianus and taught at the Academy of Athens. His most prominent writings were the Elements, the Theology of Plato, and the Commentary on Euclids Elements. Proclus also a major influence on the Christian theologian Boethius and is believed to have been a major source for the Islamic philosopher Avicenna. His legacy lives on in the works of later philosophers, such as the scholastic philosopher Johannes Scotus Eriugena.
