Stefan Banach was born on 30 March 1892 in a small village called Ostrowsko, some 50 km south of Kraków. His fathers names is Stefan Greczek. He died on 31 August 1945  at the aged of 53. And his funeral held at the Lychakiv Cemetery. Stefan Banach attended primary school in Kraków, leaving the school in 1902 to begin his secondary education at the Henryk Sienkiewicz Gymnasium No 4 in Kraków.  

Stefan Banach was a Polish mathematician.  who is generally considered one of the 20th century’s most important and influential mathematicians.  He was the founder of modern functional analysis,  and an original member of the Lwów School of Mathematics. His major work was the 1932 book,   Banach founded modern functional analysis and made major contributions to the theory of topological vector spaces.
